omg! i can’t believe it’s been one year already!
when i first started this blog, i knew exactly what i wanted it to be at that time. the production of content flowed so effortlessly — the vision and design, the energy of Ms. Devereaux — just everything!
i will say, i was a bit uncertain about how committed i was to my creation because this wasn’t my first attempt at blogging. initially, i started this journey on substack, but that only lasted about two months before i decided to make the switch to wordpress.
everything felt so uncertain at that time. i wasn’t sure what i wanted that blog to be, what direction i wanted it to thrive in and so on. but then one night, i was fooling around at home alone (only-child syndrome babe) and i said to myself, “you know what, i could put this energy into blogging!”
“mhm, yep.” lol!
now, what kind of energy was it? i’m not exactly sure, but the amount of times that i’ve said something in a theatrical way and someone asked, “wait, what movie was that off of?” when i’d completely made it up in my head, helped me to realize that there’s something there.
there’s talent there.
the way words pop up in my head — feelings, emotions, energy — and poems just flow out of my brain so quickly and effortlessly, i knew that i needed to document this in spaces other than my journals.
i’d already taken the leap of publicly sharing my writing and became more comfortable with doing so. now i just needed to find the right platform, which eventually, i did!
i’m proud of myself and all that my blog has become. i feel like this is my digital home and the best way for the world to truly get to know me.

it’s not easy putting yourself out there in such a vulnerably, yet creative way. i still have my doubts at times, but your support helps me to keep going!

fall is coming, which i feel is my most creative season, so stay tuned for what all is to come from my side of the internet during this time.
