Darling, Be Delusional Over Yourself

Elegant Black woman in glasses teaching a lesson beside a chalkboard displaying the quote, “never allow anyone to discredit the makings of you.” — Antonia C.

hello darling.

this is your reminder to be delusional over yourself.

to be audacious.

many people will try to do and say whatever they can to discredit the makings of you.

they’ll try to discredit your intellect and success, your confidence and beauty, your resiliency and perseverance — any and everything that makes your light shine.

they’ll try to tell you who you “should” be based on their own insecurities and inaccurate perceptions of you.

and i’m here to remind you:

don’t let them!

you are exactly who you think you are.

have the audacity to believe in yourself and never take advice from anyone you wouldn’t want to trade lives with.

because oftentimes, folks will only advise you up to the level they want you to remain. and sometimes it’s intentional, sometimes it’s not. but that’s just even more of a reason as to why you should be your own primary consultant.

have the audacity.

trust yourself. listen to yourself. believe in yourself.

be delusional over yourself.

because at the end of the day, no one knows exactly what you want but you babe!

If my words have lingered with you, or you feel compelled to leave a note—or a rose of appreciation—you may reach me here.
