Checking In | Fall 2026

Pink journal and pen beside a chai latte, autumn leaves, candlelight, and a cozy pink blanket overlooking a fall lakeside at sunset

it’s finally here, my favorite season of the year – Earth’s dearest Fall. i will say, it definitely took a while to cool down on my end of the country, but i won’t complain.

rolling with it like the crisp leaves in the wind baby.

that’s actually been the theme of my life lately – rolling with it. remaining open to new experiences and connections and truly basking in the fact that i am bound by nothing.

i had a conversation with someone last week and i compared this moment in my life to that of a plane ride. i feel like i’m at the point where i’m easing into the sky and leveling myself above the clouds. taking it all in and realizing that i have so much space, freedom and opportunity to move in any direction my heart desires.

sure, there are bits of uncertainty in some areas, but that’s something i’ve found myself leaning into more and more as the year goes on – the space of the unknown.

so, we shall see what all is to come.

switching gears for a bit, i wanted to share a few things i’ve come across recently that are bringing me joy.

Current Read:

The Auction by Sadie Kincaid

i’m enjoying this read. there’s a few things about the FMC, Imogen, that immediately caught my interest within the first chapter or so. i’m currently on chapter 25 and i must say, the gears are definitely switching babe. hopefully it continues to pull me in because i definitely DNF’d a few books during the summer, lol.

stay tuned for the review this fall!

New Music:

Loaded Honey – Love Made Trees

this band was shared with me over the weekend and i absolutely love what i’ve heard so far. i started with the recommended song, Don’t Speak, which led me to their album, Love Made Tree’s, and i’ve had it on repeat all day today.

one thing about me, i love a good body of work. i listen to individual songs, yes, but i also enjoy listening to full albums and getting to know the artist through their work. Cisco Bay is one of my favorites on this album.

and per a quick google search, this band produces a blend of soul, soft pop and funk. so if that’s your vibe, then i think it’d be the perfect addition to your autumn catalog.

lastly, Ms. Analise Devereaux has a few pieces brewing! fall seems to be the season her pen favors most, hence her latest post, I’m Coming… For You.

if you’re new here, Analise Devereaux is the alter ego i created for (mostly) poetic expression. but sometimes, i use her in real life too because… why so serious babe?

as always – life is good, love is good, and romance is forever.

take care of yourselves. do things that bring you joy. say no. say yes. and know when to say when.

Love,

AD
