Jeneva has done it again! I will say, this book did not have me on an emotional rollercoaster as much as The Perfect Marriage did. I’ve seen some readers say that TPM was very predictable, but TPD was more predictable to me. However, despite the predictability, I allowed Jeneva to guide me through to the end.

This wasn’t a boring read at all, in my opinion. I’d say it’s more of an essential bridge to part three. An intermission, if you will. One thing I enjoy about Sarah Morgan’s character is the way she effortlessly exudes dark feminine energy. I love it so much! She’s seductive, resilient, confident, wise, intuitive, destructive and the list goes on. No stone is left unturned with her and I admire this so much.

On a more serious note, I truly feel for her. Being the victim of infidelity in not one, but two marriages? Absurd. Go ahead and close the curtain because it’s over. Luckily, her persistent ability to choose logic over emotion served her well in the end.

Speaking of husbands, I can’t do anything but laugh at Bob. He really thought he could compete with Sarah. Unlike Adam, Bob was a successful attorney as well. So him and Sarah had more in common in terms of career success. However, when it came to character and personality, they were quite different from one another.

Bob was extremely egotistical, and it repeatedly stung him all the way through to the end. He was so emotionally driven while Sarah made every move from a logical standpoint. Like Adam, he became increasingly and uncontrollably desperate as time went on and after so many dead ends, the paranoia took over and he lost control. He began to bleed and a shark like Sarah sensed blood immediately… She ate him up.

I decided to give a 3-star rating because I wasn’t too mind blown by the way this story ended. I was expecting a bit more of a sting, a harder punch. It didn’t feel like a true Sarah Morgan ending. The transition felt as if I had skipped a few pages to jump to the end or something. It felt as if something was missing.

There’s going to be a part three and my mind is twisting and turning thinking about how it’s all going to go down. I haven’t forgotten about Adam’s mom, Eleanor. I wonder if another one of Adam’s family members is going to come out of the woodwork and fight for his justice. And what about Scott? Surely there’s more to him. What if he comes for Sarah in some way?

My guess for part three is that Scott helped Adam prove his innocence while incarcerated. Adam gets swapped out with someone else on his execution day, goes into hiding for a bit, and then him and Scott work together to take Sarah down. I guess we’ll have to wait and see but if that’s how part three goes then you discovered it here first!

In The Perfect Marriage, Sarah taught us one very important lesson—timing is everything. In The Perfect Divorce, she hit us with yet another valuable lesson—always stay two steps ahead. Her previous marriage to Adam gave her the wisdom and experience needed to ensure she’d remain prepared for the obstacles she’d encounter during her marriage to Bob. And by applying her wisdom and skill, she was effortlessly able to execute The Perfect Divorce.
